Pavlos Pissanos showed talent in painting and sculpture at a very young age. At the age of 14, he sculpted his mother’s face in plasticine, a likeness that surprised his school’s technical teacher. In the summer of 1956 he worked with the group of hagiographers of N. Asmanis, at Prophet Elias of Pagrati, while in the summer of 1957, finishing the 8th grade high school of the Kalpakas School, he worked alongside the late stage designer Cleovoulos Clonis, at Epidaurus, in the construction of decorations for the staging of Euripides’ plays. During the same period of time, Pavlos Pissanos worked as a painter, portrait painter, painting the faces of actors in showcases of Athenian cinemas. The staff of the Damaskinos-Michaelidis film company noticed his talent and asked him for permanent cooperation in the construction of models for the advertising needs of Greek and foreign films in the newspapers of the time. During the same period, Pavlos Pissanos opened his first office, at 96 Akademias Street, on the fourth floor, hiring the first team of painters and designers for the advertising coverage of many Greek films.

Note: Until today, the “Pissanos” billboard is still on the external façade of the 4th floor of 96 Akadimias Street.

POET
From his childhood, until the age of about 20, Pavlos Pissanos wrote poems at moments of inspiration, some of which he published in a collection of poems entitled “ABOVE AND BELOW THE GROUND” (1954-1960).
Paul’s beloved uncle, Antonios Pissanos, an intellectual and psychoanalyst, and Angelos Tanagra, a military doctor and the only president of the Hellenic Society for Psychical Research, described some of Paul’s poems as masterpieces of Greek poetry.

BUSINESSMAN – ADVERTISER
From 1957 to 1988, Pavlos Pissanos worked initially as an advertiser and then as a producer of television programmes, employing dozens of technicians, presenters and actors for the needs of daily shows and serials, most of which were produced by the YENED and ERT of the time.
The greatest names of the Greek cinema, such as directors Alekos Sakellarios and Vassilis Georgiadis, Gregoris Grigoriou, Manos Katrakis, Aliki Vougiouklaki, Rika Dialina, Elli Lambetis, Takis Vougiouklakis, Maria Alkaiou, Maria Aliferi, George Konstantinou, Spyros Fokas, Nikos Vastardis, Alekos Alexandrakis, Dinos Iliopoulos, Mary Chronopoulou, Kostas Karras, Olga Politou, the choreographer Fotis Metaxopoulos and many other famous people, worked with zeal in the Greek productions of Pavlos Pissanos.

His first production, a documentary entitled: “FOUR FEET A DAY”, impressed the critics. The film was about the relationship between a man and a woman, in shots running the length of the film, from the waist down.

His second production, completed 6 months after Kennedy’s death in the US, was entitled “MY PRAYER”. This documentary was about an insight of a representative of humanity who heard as in a vision the prayer of the assassinated President.

His third production in a row entitled “RAPHAEL DE GORDOVA – THE SUN LAND”. In this documentary, one of the world’s greatest dancers, Raphael De Gordova, in the 1960s, danced on the Acropolis of Athens, in choreographies dedicated to the beauties of Greece.

In 1973 Pavlos Pissanos’ ambitious international production entitled “OCCUPATION” was launched in collaboration with YENED.
The protagonists were the great internationals of the time: Kurt Jurgens, Maria Schell, Klaus Kinski, Thomas Hunter, Christine Kaufman, George Fountas and many other Greek and foreign actors.

The music was written by Manos Hadjidakis, whom Pavlos Pissanos brought from London to Greece at the end of the seven-year period of the colonels.

The surprise regime “Ioannidis”  imposed the interruption of the shooting of the hyper-production “OCCUPATION”, confiscated the materials of the film and when, after 12 years, Pavlos Pissanos won all the legal battles, which he did in order to vindicate himself, and ERT was forced to return the masters of the shooting, most of the films were lost.
Despite the financial difficulties, Pavlos Pissanos continued his struggle and his creative work, organizing a Radio and TV studio for the operation of the “OLYMPOS” station, which broadcast for 5 years Greek radio broadcasts of cultural, literary and philosophical content and for one year broadcasts of the “OLYMPOS” TV station.

SCIENCE AND CULTURE DOCUMENTARY PRODUCER
Since 1988, Paul participated in the international markets MIP TV and MIP COM, in Cannes, creating his own productions of television programmes on Science, Ancient Greek History, Archaeology, Philosophy and Culture.

Twice a year and for 22 consecutive years Pavlos Pissanos and his wife Carolina, always by his side, participate with impressive success in the difficult and demanding international market of Cannes, forming a global link with international television stations, such as the History Channel, National Geographic etc., selling his Greek productions subtitled in many languages. In addition to television stations, hundreds of thousands of DVDs of Pavlos Pissannos’ works were sold in numerous markets across the globe.

In the International American platform IMDB, which evaluates the quality of the world’s film productions, Pavlos Pissanos’ name has a rate of more than 85% for the majority of his productions, while his name is among the top names of the world’s producers for the works of art and culture he has produced to date.

Since 2010, when Caroline’s demyelinating disease was diagnosed, the couple stopped being present at the Cannes market. On November 3, 2014, Carolina, after a long struggle with the rare disease ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), left for the Other Life. Paul Pissanos was not alone. The large group of believers of the OLYMPOS Association stood by his side with unconditional faith, helped him to stand up and together they all continued the struggle for the realization of the vision of HEPTAPOLIS. Today, a large number of fighters of the spirit are struggling to solve the problems related to the completion of this gigantic project, whose realization was recognized by the Municipality of Delphi with the granting of several thousand acres in the Municipal area of Desfinas, for the implementation of the Heptapolis – Trilogy projects.

MUSIC COMPOSER – DIRECTOR – PRODUCER
When Pavlos was informed about the copyright and other rights that resulted from the release of his films and documentaries, he decided to take over all his works himself, as a composer, writer and director, in order to avoid the heavy financial burdens of the rights to others. He wrote a total of more than 60 hours of music, which he orchestrated with his distinguished arranger and friend George Theodosiadis, wrote all the scripts for his works, which he then directed and edited and edited the editing and music scoring himself.

Pavlos Pissanos, from the age of 17, conceived the idea of an “Ancient City”, which in 1984 he named HEPTAPOLIS.
For the last 30 years he has worked as a painter and designer on the Pythagorean architectural conception of HEPTAPOLIS, in which the Golden Section, the Golden Number, the Golden Ratio and the Golden Symmetry play an important role.

He designed with modern architectural tools, through computers, HEPTAPOLIS, with all its building complexes, the floor plans and their decorative elements and statues.

He designed the Delphic Amphictyony through computers and architected it following the commercial American standards of Silicon Valley.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITIONS – AWARDS
For the idea and the electronic 3D presentation of HEPTAPOLIS – International Green City, Pavlos Pissanos was awarded by the International Association of Olympians, by the Zhivkova International Foundation. He also received by the Governor of the State of Tennessee, Bill Haslam, the title of Colonel Aide de Camp of the State of Tennessee, received a medal from the University of Poznan, Poland, was made an Ordinary Member of the “Harmonia Universal” of Portugal and received the Gold Medal from His Royal Highness Prince Dom Miguel de Braganca of Portugal.
He was also anointed Knight of Malta, received a Medal from the Albert Schweitzer International Foundation, is an active member of the International Academy of Social Sciences in Florida, USA, He was awarded the Order of the Pearl of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo and was appointed, by the Governor of the State of Tennessee, USA in 2016, as a Goodwill Ambassador.

Honorary distinctions and medals for the creation of “HEPTAPOLIS” were also given to P. Pissanos by the University of Göttingen and many other Universities and Institutions in Europe, America and Asia.”

With academic support,  his book “The Laws of the Universe in Earthly and Heavenly life” was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature and Science in 2011.

Pavlos Pissanos’ work “From Aristotle to Hawking” has been published in more than 100 countries, as a book and documentary and was nominated by 10 Professors of Universities and Academies of the world, for two consecutive times, as a candidate for the Templeton International Prize 2011-2012.
