Maria Ines Garnica Montenegro joined the Department of English and Modern Languages at Deree Athens, Greece in 1996. Prior to this, she taught at the Gabriel René Moreno University of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and the University of Plymouth, UK. At DEREE she has developed and taught a variety of basic and intermediate Spanish language courses, including socio-cultural courses’ in Spain and Latin America today.
Her constant concern for language teaching brings a whole cultural and life experience into the classroom at the same time as language learning.
He is a firm believer that language skills and intercultural understanding are very important for achieving peace through better communication between people. For this reason she started the foundation of the Cultures and Languages Club at Deree and has acted as its advisor ever since.
He is a member of the ASPE (Asociación de Profesores de Español en Atenas) and the virtual space of Spanish teachers “Comunidad TodoELE”.
