Biography

Vasilios Markezinis

Professor Vasilios Markezinis has taught as a Full Professor at the Universities of Cambridge, London, Oxford, Leyden (the Netherlands) and Austen, Texas (of the USA) and as (repeatedly) Visiting Professor at the Universities of Paris I and II, Munich, Ciena, Rome, Ghent, Cornell (New York), Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Beijing. He is a member of the National Academies of Athens, Belgium, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands and Rome (Lincei), as well as a member of the American Institute of Law and the Archaeological Society of Athens. In 1997, he was appointed Honorary Queen’s Counsel by the Queen of England, who, in 2005, also knighted him “for distinguished services to international legal relations”. He has also been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of France and Italy, and has also been awarded the prestigious titles of Senior Brigadier of the Order of Merit of Germany, Brigadier of the Legion of Honour of France, and Brigadier of the Order of Honour of Greece. To date, he has written forty-nine books in the fields of Law, Geopolitics, Art and Psychobiography, many of which have been translated into French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Greek and Chinese.
