Adreas Kampizionis
Andreas Kabizionis, former president of the American Eurythnics Association “The Velouchi”, and most recently appointed as a representative of the Pan Eurythnics Association of the U.S.A. Apart from his university career, he has an excellent and multifaceted career and contribution to his hometown as well as to his adopted country, America.
A graduate of the Gymnasium and the Pedagogical Academy of Lamia, he taught for three years, served his military service as a reserve second lieutenant and in 1957 he emigrated with his wife Panagiota, née Stavros Chondrou, from Agia Vlacherna, Evritania, to the United States of America, his first stop being New York.
In New York, working as a banker and attending courses in Economics at New York University, he received his degree with a major in Economics and then, settling in Florence, South Carolina, he entered the real estate and restaurant business, becoming, in 1999, a founding member and a member of the Board of Directors of First Reliance Bank. At the same time, having graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master’s degree in Philosophy, he was hired as a Professor of Philosophy by Francis Marion University and by Florence-Darlington Technical College, nationally recognized institutions, where he has been teaching continuously since 1988.
An active and active member and president of educational, social, national, charitable, cultural, homogeneous and American organizations and institutions, he has received many recognitions and honors that have brightened his name and the Greek name, such as the following:
1. His appointment as the first Commissioner of Culture and Cultural Affairs of the Florence County, South Carolina, County of Florence, South Carolina (2008).
2. The Ellis Island Medal of Honor for services rendered in the promotion of human rights in his adopted country, America, and in the preservation and dissemination of the customs, traditions and customs of his native Greece (2002)
3. The Jack Baker Award for his contributions to the Arts and Letters of the area – Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Symphony Orchestra, Art Museum, etc. (1989)
4. The Americanism Award from the national organization Daughters of the American Revolution for his support and contributions to the struggle for equality and freedom of the individual (1986)
5. The Order of the Archbishop of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople for services to the church (1982)
6. The Order of the Palmeto of the States of South Carolina, the highest recognition awarded to a citizen of the county for services to the county (1988)
7. Appointment by the Governor of South Carolina as a member of the Commission.
Preservation of Historic Monuments of the County.
Visiting his hometown of Greece each summer without fail, he participates with presentations at conferences such as that of the Eurasian Scholars as well as roundtable discussions. He also participated in the TV series “Occult Harmony” of the channel Extra 3, and is a member of the World Spiritual Centre Olympus, based in Athens.
