In 1920, Einstein gave a lecture at Leiden University, changing his original attitude towards Ether, saying:
“To sum up, we can say that, according to the general theory of relativity, space is endowed with physical properties.
According to this concept, therefore, there is an Aether.
Space without Ether is inconceivable, because in such a space there would be neither propagation of light nor the possibility of the existence of the patterns of space and time, and, consequently, there would be no “Space-Time Continuum”.
