After a thorough research for the selection of the site for the installation of an airport that would serve the need of the cities of HEPTAPOLIS-TRILOGIA, the scientific committee of the company HEPTAPOLIS-TRILOGIA S.A. considered as the most reliable site of choice, the straight plain of Orchomenos.
The HEPTAPOLIS Airport, is planned to have an IATUS standard terminal, a satellite terminal and two asphalt runways, 2,200 meters long and 40-45 meters wide.
In addition to the ILS, it will carry multiple systems to handle the needs of the airport, while the Satellite Terminal will be used by low-cost companies. Access will be via an underground runway from the main terminal.
For future provision, the runways will have the potential to be expanded as long as traffic conditions increase to accommodate, with the safety of European Aviation and the Federal Aviation Administration, the multicultural passenger population with the larger Airbus A380 aircraft.
Heliports
Heliports in Greek airspace, are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). In the installation of heliports, with regard to their geographical distribution, the following are required for the cities of Heptapolis-Trilogy
the following heliports:HEPTAPOLIS: One Hospital heliport for each of the 3 cities, serving the health needs of the tourist villages and hotels.
One private helipad at the Apollon Royal Palace V.I.P. hotel.
Three private heliportsin Heptapolis
Three private heliports in the city of Delphi Amphictyony.
All heliports will be equipped in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO-ANNEX 14/Vol. 2, 3rd Edition, July 2009 and Heliport Manual/ Doc. 9261 – AN/903 3rd edition 1995) as well as the institutional framework for their operation and use, as defined by the Decree 19/2009 (Government Gazette A’ 35/2009).
The Civil Aviation Authority, through the Heliports Office of the Airports Directorate of the Central Authority, will supervise their operation.
